Wording of Opening Titles in Action Films

12 Rounds (Action, crime & thriller)

Everybody Dies (Action)

Fighting (Action, drama & sport)

From all of these films credits i have realised that the colour of the text are all in white. There are different types of font and motion used. Some films have a lot of credits at the beginning of the film and some do not. This maybe because the film was made by very important people and there names had to be seen first to show their importance.

Target Audience

We did some research and we found that the male audience enjoyed more action films. Females did as well but the majority if action genre film fans were male. We also looked into the age range that enjoyed an action film and found that it was mostly 18 - 36 year olds. We agreed with this however we thought that a younger audience could also enjoy our film as it involved a bit of humour.

This was one of the surveys we used to choose our target audience. According to the survey, school children enjoyed the

Costume Ideas

Tony Stone – A hit man hired by Ryan’s enemies to kill and take back the money stolen by Ryan. He is going to be wearing smart formal clothing e.g. suit, shirt tie. The reason for this is because he is a professional assassin who has killed many people in the past and he takes pride and joy in representing his professionalism by his clothes.

Character Info

Ryan an ex assassin who used to work for the assassin group dropped out of the group but at the same time stole money. He is going to be wearing casual clothes to look a bit nerdy, e.g. cardigans, jeans and glasses.

Our group had difficulties finding another person to take part in our film opening scene because we couldn't find anyone willing to run for our filming purposes. We decided to use Rubel (our costume designer and editor) as our main character (Ryan) and asked a friend of ours to take the part of the assassin (Tony Stones). Another difficulty we faced while trying to find an actor was that when our group were available to film, the actors we wanted to use, had lessons and so we chose a weekend to film so our times don't clash.

Sound Research

For are working out scene we used this piece of music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsO6ZnUZI0g&feature=relmfu. However, due to we are not allowed to use copyright music we might have to remove this from are film opening and make something similar of are own.

This is how we would like for our chase scene music to be like adventurous and fast it also suits our genre type.

Rubel Ahmed

For our chase scene, we have been looking for fast paced music that adds a tense atmosphere to it. We thought maybe we could use dub step music as the sounds are heavy and are well suited for a chase scene. We thought of using something like this:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR6AV9yJPoM.
For the work out scene, we thought we'd use something a bit more "street" like a RNB song to make it seem more modern.

Film Title Research

The Transporter (Action, crime & thriller)
The colour for this film title is in a glowy green colour with lines going across it. The word 'the' is in capitals, small, bold and above the films name. The word 'Transporter' is also in capitals but is larger, in capitals and in bold. The background for this film title is a black image of a person in a car this is not clear during the title scene. The reasons for the not clear background is for the title to stand out.

Taken (action, crime & thriller)
The font used for this film title is in a basic font with the title 'Taken' in capitals. The colour for this is in white. The background for this title is in a living room beside the sofa and a table. On this tale there is a frame of a girl riding a horse the reason for the title being where it is maybe because the film is about her or she is important in the film.

Fighting (action, drama & sport)
The font for this film title is in a normal font however, the lettering are placed in lower and capital letters. The background for this is a birds eye view of buildings. The colour used is a bright red this stands out and makes the title look more appealing.
